What is extra virgin olive oil (EVOO) Extra virgin olive oil is olive fruit juice! It is the unrefined, pressed juice of selected olives. This juice must meet chemical analysis requirements to be labeled extra virgin.
What is balsamic vinegar To be allowed to call itself “balsamic,” a vinegar must be made in Modena, Italy. Our partners in Modena make balsamic vinegars using a combination of aged Trebbiano and Lambrusco grape must. The vinegars are aged in decades-old oak barrels for a complex flavor that’s still balanced and refreshing. The process yields a dense, velvety vinegar that has a light, delicate acidity, making it ideal for many dishes including desserts.
How many flavors do you have in your store? We currently have over 55 Extra Virgin Olive Oils and Balsamics available. Come sample and let our friendly staff guide you to the perfect flavors and pairings.
How long have you been in business? Hilton Head Olive Oils & Balsamics has been selling premium extra virgin olive oils and balsamic vinegars in The Village at Wexford on beautiful Hilton Head Island for the last decade. We have operated under different names (The Oilerie) and in different locations around The Village at Wexford, but opened our doors at Suite F6 in December of 2022 and are thrilled with our new location.. We have added so much square footage and filled it with even more carefully curated oils and vinegars, along with some truly excellent gourmet food & drink items along with thoughtful gifts and serving pieces. What you can't find at our store, chances are we will have it right across the parking lot at our sister store, Le Cookery!

They're delicious!
Ok, ok...I'm sold! But, where do you source your oils and vinegars? We curate and bottle (daily!) the world's best extra virgin olive oils and balsamic vinegars from the finest regions of Italy, Spain, Greece and Portugal.
Is there any added sugar in your balsamics? What about gluten? Our balsamics are produced in Modena, Italy with aged Trebbiano and Lambrusco grapes following the strict production traditions and principles of Modena. They are naturally made with NO sweetening, NO thickening, NO flavoring, NO colorant agents and NO added sulfites. 100% Natural Sugars (NO added Sugars, EVER!) and 100% Gluten-Free.
What is the best way to store olive oil? Store your oils in a cool, dark place. Extra virgin olive oil’s biggest enemies are heat and light. Do not keep your oils too close to a heat source.
What is the shelf life of olive oils? If stored properly, our oils will hold their fresh flavor for 12-24 months, however, over time, the oils will gradually lose their fresh flavor and their polyphenols (antioxidants) and vitamins will slowly decrease. Do not wait, enjoy your oils now...fresh is best!
What is the shelf life of balsamic? Forever. It has already “gone bad”!
Can I substitute oil for butter in a recipe? Absolutely. Olive oil is a wonderful, healthy alternative to butter in baking. 1 teaspoon of butter = 3/4 teaspoon of olive oil. Try our Savory Butter, Vanilla, Blood Orange or Persian Lime when baking.
Do you ship? YES! And we even offer free shipping in the U.S. on orders over $100.
